In a jaw-dropping drama that shook Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), a bold conman tried to grab precious ‘Suprabhatham’ tickets and luxury rooms by faking a top government badge! The man claimed to be “Dr. P. Rama Rao” from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), writing a letter dated May 1 to the then Executive Officer J. Syamala Rao. In his cheeky letter, he said he was a Deputy Secretary working in the South Block, New Delhi, and wanted ten Suprabhatham tickets plus three air-conditioned rooms to stay at Tirumala on May 10. But TTD officials smelled something fishy and quickly checked with the PMO. Bam! They found out no such official by that name ever worked there. The PMO’s Assistant Director, A.K. Sharma, took the matter very seriously and filed a complaint with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against this 'self-styled PMO official.' The CBI didn’t waste time and registered a case (FIR Number RC 0482025 S 0009 dated October 2) against Rama Rao. Charges include cheating, personation, and computer-related cheating under various sections of the law including Section 66D of the IT Act. A copy of this FIR is with The Hindu. But wait, Rama Rao is no rookie! TTD isn’t his first target. Earlier, he used the name “C. Sridhar, Joint Secretary to the PM” to sneak into a university in Pune. He even fooled the Mysuru Tahsildar to get land documents. This man’s tricks are as layered as a spicy biryani! TTD and CBI have now put an eye on this shrewd trickster to stop his drama once and for all. Watch out, because when the law steps in, the game is up!
