November 7, 2025

Bengaluru police struck gold in their hunt for a chain snatcher! Mehraj, a 25-year-old from Suddaguntepalya, was caught red-handed. The young miscreant had snatched a 30-gram gold chain from a woman taking an evening stroll in Manorayanapalya on October 8. But Mehraj’s mischief didn’t stop there. He is also accused of stealing gold chains in Talaghattapura. Hebbal police finally detained Mehraj on October 28 in Talaghattapura. Shockingly, he confessed to a string of crimes — he stole two-wheelers from various places and used them for his daring gold chain snatching with an accomplice who is still on the run. The police said, “Efforts are on to nab him.” Mehraj is now in judicial custody, but the police are on a roll! They found four stolen two-wheelers parked in an empty area of V Nagenahalli. These recovered bikes cracked open several cases registered in Hebbal, RMC Yard, Rajagopalanagar, and Mico Layout. Thanks to sharp police work, a web of gold chain thefts and bike thefts has been unraveled, bringing some relief to the residents of Bengaluru’s neighborhoods. Keep your gold and vehicles safe, because the cops are watching!
