Bihar's political drama took a sudden twist thanks to Cyclone Montha! Just after the festive Chhath Puja, when election rallies were expected to roar louder, the cyclone poured heavy rain and fog, sending the campaign schedule into a tizzy. Helicopters, the usual buzz of Bihar's star campaigners, were mostly stuck on the ground. Only two daring choppers took off from Patna on Friday. One flew BJP leader Manoj Tiwari to Khagaria, and another carried Tej Pratap Yadav to Simri Bakhtiyarpur. But most big guns from both NDA and opposition alliances had to cancel their trips. Not one to be beaten by bad weather, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar chose wheels over wings. He hit the road hard on Friday, driving a vibrant roadshow from Samastipur to Laukaha in Madhubani, covering a dozen constituencies with nonstop energy. He didn’t stop there—Saturday saw him continuing this ground campaign. Talk about dedication! Union Home Minister Amit Shah was scheduled for three rallies in Gopalganj, Samastipur, and Vaishali. But the cyclone had him grounded in Patna, waiting for weather clearance. Not one to lose heart, Shah switched gears and addressed the crowds through virtual rallies, keeping his campaign spirit alive despite the storm. On the other side, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav faced a rough patch. His helicopter stayed grounded for the second day, forcing him to cancel all ten Friday rallies and many planned for Saturday. Still, he reached out to some supporters through phone calls before finally stepping out when the weather cleared a bit. The JDU didn’t miss the chance to jab a little. On social media, they posted, "This is the difference between a true public servant and an accidental politician. While Nitish Kumar goes among the people even in bad weather, the prince delivers speeches over the phone while sitting at home." Ouch! The battle of words just got spicier with the storms brewing outside. So, as Cyclone Montha rumbled through Bihar, it tossed the election fever into a whirlwind. The question now is—who will turn the weather challenge into a winning advantage?
