AP Launches Suraksha App to Fight Fake Liquor and Protect You!

October 16, 2025

In a bold new move to protect people from fake liquor, Andhra Pradesh has launched the exciting Suraksha App! The Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, revealed this news during a meeting at the Real-Time Governance Society in Amaravati. This smart app uses QR codes so that everyone can check if their liquor bottle is genuine before buying it. Imagine a world where checking liquor is just a quick scan away! CM Naidu said this initiative will bring “full transparency and accountability” to liquor sales. He ordered officials to allow liquor sales only after scanning the Suraksha App’s QR code, created by the State Excise Department. He also warned: “If required, laws will be amended to curb such activities,” showing zero tolerance for illegal liquor shops spoiling the market. What’s cooler? The app shows clear details like price, manufacturing date, and authenticity right on digital display boards at liquor stores. Since its launch on October 13, over 27,000 users have grabbed this app, scanning more than 53,000 bottles. Guess what? Not a single fake bottle has been found! The Chief Minister also wants to extend this barcode scanning to beer bottles and approved using random and scientific testing methods to ensure liquor quality is top-notch. Plus, customers now have a control room ready to hear their complaints and feedback. With Suraksha App, buying liquor in Andhra Pradesh just got safer, smarter, and transparent. So next time you pick a bottle, don’t forget to scan that QR code and say goodbye to spurious drinks!
