JP Park in North Bengaluru turned into a hotbed of political drama on October 12, 2025! During the ‘Walk with Bengaluru’ campaign led by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Rajarajeshwari Nagar BJP MLA Munirathna stole the spotlight—not by walking, but by gatecrashing dressed in a striking RSS uniform. Why? Because he was furious that neither he nor the local MP was invited to the event. After nearly two hours of walking inside JP Park, Shivakumar was about to start a public grievance session when he spotted Munirathna in the crowd. To everyone’s surprise, he called him on stage. Munirathna grabbed the microphone and unleashed a fierce attack on Shivakumar and the Greater Bengaluru Authority commissioner. His charge? They didn’t invite local elected leaders or even put their photos on banners. This wasn’t just a mild complaint—it sparked outright chaos. Munirathna's supporters burst out shouting slogans against Shivakumar, raising the tension to a boiling point. Police quickly stepped in and escorted Munirathna out. In the rush, his black RSS cap fell off, which angered him deeply. “They are trying to get me killed. They either want me to resign as MLA or see me dead. They have disrespected the RSS by removing my cap,” Munirathna said loudly while police led him away. But he wouldn’t leave quietly—he sat down for a protest just outside the park, backed by his loyal supporters. On the other side, D.K. Shivakumar clarified, "This is not a government event. So, political leaders were not invited." He explained that the walk was a people’s initiative to connect with Bengaluru’s citizens and their problems. About Munirathna’s behavior, Shivakumar bluntly remarked, "He might be mentally affected to behave this way in a public event." Unfazed, the Deputy CM told officials to continue the programme. As the event ended, Munirathna’s supporters shouted slogans near the park gate, calling Shivakumar an "RSS hater" while he left. Munirathna insisted the event was indeed a government function and slammed both the civic commissioner and the Congress party for excluding him. This fiery showdown on October 12 will surely be remembered as a masaledar moment in Bengaluru’s political saga!
