Tragic Car Crash Near Vikravandi: Three Dead, Two Injured as Vehicle Bursts into Flames on Chennai-Trichy Highway

A tragic and fiery accident shook the Chennai-Trichy national highway near Vikravandi on Thursday, October 2, 2025. A car carrying five people from Kolathur, Chennai, to beautiful Munnar in Kerala, suddenly went out of control. The driver lost grip, and the vehicle slammed into the median before crashing heavily into a lorry. In an instant, flames burst out, and the car was engulfed in fire within minutes! The police said, "Five persons were travelling in the car from Kolathur in Chennai to Munnar in Kerala. When they approached Vikravandi, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed it against the median. It then collided with a lorry and caught fire." Sadly, three passengers died on the spot: Shamsuddin, 25, from Thiruvellikeni, Rishi from Kolathur, and Mohan from Avadi. Two others were injured and rushed to Government Villupuram Medical College and Hospital for treatment. The fiery crash brought the highway to a dead stop for over an hour, causing massive traffic jams. Authorities have registered a case and are investigating the details of this tragic accident.
