Lenovo’s ISG Rockets to $4.3B Revenue with New AI Centre of Excellence in India!

August 26, 2025

Hold on tight! Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) is on a sizzling roll. In Q1 2025-26 alone, ISG raked in a whopping $4.3 billion in revenue — a dazzling 36% jump from last year. And guess what’s fueling this fire? A brand-new AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in India, set to become the heart of AI magic, right in Bengaluru. Sumir Bhatia, APAC President of Lenovo ISG, shared the juicy details: “Later in the year, we will have an AI innovation centre in Bengaluru. Customers and partners can come in, even do POCs, and put in different applications there. It won’t just be a centre with shiny hardware, but will also provide access to labs and collaboration with our technology partners. It will also cover our complete end-to-end device to infrastructure.” This means India won’t just witness AI growth but will lead a global buzz with hands-on tech experiences and teamwork. Lenovo’s love affair with India is clear. In FY25, India’s revenue soared to $3.4 billion, a massive 67% leap year-on-year! They grabbed nearly 19% of the PC market and shipped Made-in-India products worth a jaw-dropping ₹18,000 crore. The secret sauce? R&D hubs, large factories, and delivery centres all working together like a well-oiled machine. The Bengaluru R&D lab, launched in September 2024, employs around 200 tech wizards, focusing on infrastructure solutions that shape the future. Globally, Lenovo is also moving beyond PCs — nearly 46% of its $69 billion revenue flows from servers, phones, and AI infrastructure. And the AI journey? Bhatia explains, “About half of our revenue comes from the CSP, and the rest from E/SMB. A key area of growth over the last few years, and where our investment has gone, is AI. We invested early in the game -- a billion dollars into bringing in new infrastructure. This has resulted in more than 80 AI platforms across our portfolio.” They are not stopping! An additional $1 billion investment between FY23 and FY25 aims to turbocharge AI deployment worldwide. The Puducherry plant, thrumming since 2005, is the factory powerhouse now churning out enterprise AI and GPU servers with cutting-edge 8-way GPU architecture. This plant can build 50,000 AI rack servers and 2,400 GPU servers every year. Amit Luthra, MD - India, Lenovo ISG, beams, “We are 200 days into the operation. About half of that was the time spent on setting up the plant. In the last 100 days, we have delivered significant customer orders. Anything that addresses 70 per cent to 80 per cent of the workloads, we intended that it should be manufactured in India.” With rapid growth, strong investments, and a full-stack approach from devices to infrastructure, Lenovo’s ISG is making India the new AI playground for the world. The future is buzzing, and Lenovo is leading the charge with lightning speed!
