August 24, 2025

What a dazzling day it was at Visakhapatnam’s Police Barracks Grounds on August 23, 2025! The Junior Chamber International (JCI) threw a spectacular Special Olympics event, where more than 900 differently-abled students from 50 schools gathered to showcase their fantastic sports talents. The air was filled with energy, cheers, and dreams in motion. Visakhapatnam City Police Commissioner Shankhabratha Bagchi kicked off the event with a powerful message. He urged society, industrialists, and organisations, “to contribute towards nurturing diverse talents and supporting children with disabilities.” What a strong call for support! Leading the programme was JCI Vizag President N. Charishma, with zonal president A. Santosh and other important guests like D. Sambasiva Rao (Shravan Shipping MD), G. Ramji (Tirumala Steel), Dr. Karri Swamy (Ayush Hospital MD), and software rep Nandini all cheering the young champions. The competition was fierce but fun! Here are the winners who stole the show: - Hearing Impaired Champion: Priyadarshini Service Organisation - Visually Impaired Champion: Netra Vidhyalaya - All-Round Champion: Lebenshilfe - Physically Challenged Champion: Association Sai Korean - Intellectually Impaired Champion: Hidden Sprouts Special School This event was not just a contest but a powerful celebration of courage, talent, and the unstoppable spirit of these young stars. Hats off to JCI for bringing so much joy and inspiration to Visakhapatnam!
