SP’s Ram Gopal Yadav Slams EC: Vote Theft Allegations Are Real, Not Baseless!

August 18, 2025

Hold onto your seats! The political drama is sizzling hot as Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Ram Gopal Yadav openly rejected the Election Commission’s statement that allegations of vote theft are “baseless” and made without affidavits. Addressing the media, Yadav fired back at the Election Commission’s top boss, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, who had called these claims “an insult to the constitution.” Ram Gopal Yadav reminded everyone about the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections when SP chief Akhilesh Yadav shouted from the rooftops that many SP supporters’ votes were mysteriously cut. “The EC gave a notice. Affidavits of 18,000 voters were handed over to the commission,” Yadav said in Hindi, adding, “You’d be surprised that no action has been taken on those affidavits till date.” But wait, there’s more! Yadav didn’t stop there. He pointed out multiple other cases where the SP submitted affidavits to the EC, only to be completely ignored. His message was loud and clear — the Election Commission's claim that complaints are baseless is just plain wrong. Meanwhile, the political heat is spreading to Bihar. As the INDIA bloc continued to push its concerns over Election Commission irregularities, the question of boycotting upcoming elections stirred the pot. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Manoj Kumar Jha weighed in, explaining the context of a possible boycott called by RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav. “We are following all procedures before any extreme step,” Jha said. “We already went to the EC, which has been stubborn so far.” On whether boycott is on the cards, he added, “We do as the public wants. We still hope for justice from the Supreme Court. The EC should maintain its image and treat all parties equally — that should show in their actions.” And if a boycott does happen? “That will be decided by the parties here after talking to the public,” Jha stated boldly. “We represent the people, and the people decide.” So, with fiery accusations flying and election drama unfolding, what will the Election Commission do next? Political watchers are all ears and eyes as the stakes get higher and the game gets spicier!
