AIADMK Rolls Out Booth-Wise Vote Strategy With Cost-of-Living Outreach to Challenge DMK
January 30, 2026
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has launched a precise, twin-track election plan to counter the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu. The party is analyzing booth-wise voting data from the 2021 Assembly and 2024 Parliamentary elections to spot vote losses. "If a booth in Vilathikulam shows a loss of 124 votes, the reasons are studied carefully," said a senior party official. AIADMK appoints local leaders from key communities to fix these gaps. Every branch secretary gets daily updates of missing votes, reviewed weekly at district meetings.
Alongside this, AIADMK has started a strong cost-of-living campaign named ‘Vidiya Aatchi Makkalin Billae Satchi’. Booth teams use the ‘AIADMK Connect’ app and handheld printers to deliver printed bills to households. These bills compare current and past prices of electricity, property tax, milk, and essentials, showing how much more families pay now under the DMK government. The campaign first targets municipal areas and will expand to rural zones. About 40 printers are active in Nagapattinam district.
"When people calculate their spending over five years, the difference hits home," said a party functionary. Another leader added, "Even in our absence, families discuss these bills. That’s the effect we want."
The outreach data, with location details, goes live to AIADMK’s Chennai office for close monitoring. One printer currently covers four booths, with plans to increase this.
A branch secretary from Pudukkottai pointed out this data-driven method works well in areas where AIADMK narrowly lost votes but struggles with youth and other new voter groups. "It's a strong tool to shore up our base, but reaching beyond remains a challenge," he said.
