Andhra Pradesh Space Tech Summit 2026 to Launch January 22 with Rocketry Challenge

The Andhra Pradesh Space Tech Summit–2026 begins on January 22 at Vignan’s University campus in Vadlamudi, Guntur district. The three-day event ends on January 24 and highlights the South India Rocketry Challenge–2026. The summit is jointly organized by Vignan’s University, the Andhra Pradesh SpaceTech Academy in Amaravati, and Ananth Technologies, Hyderabad. K.V. Krishnakishore, Vice-Chancellor in-charge at Vignan’s University, announced the event on January 20. The brochure was also released that day.
S. Padmakumar, Director of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR), Sriharikota, will be the chief guest. Guests of honour include Prakash Chauhan, Director of the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC); former DRDO Chairman G. Satheesh Reddy; and Andhra Pradesh Minister for Roads and Buildings, B. C. Janardhan Reddy.
The summit’s theme is “Leveraging Space Technology for Viksit Bharat–2047.” It aims to boost research, innovation, startups, and industry-academia ties in space technology. Scientists from ISRO, DRDO, and top space industries will deliver expert lectures. Technical sessions will cover AI, remote sensing, space robotics, and space medicine.
For the first time, under the A.P. Science City’s support, the South India Rocketry Challenge–2026 will feature chemical rocketry contests for college students and hydro rocketry events for schools. Deans, faculty, researchers, and students from all over India will join the program.
