Early Tuesday morning, an omni-bus traveling from Bengaluru to Kodaikanal crashed near Vedasandur. The accident happened at around 4:45 a.m. near Kottaiyur. The driver, Palanisami, 49 from Salem district, lost control of the speeding bus. It went off the road and toppled into a roadside pit. Nine passengers out of 17 were hurt. Among them were two Israeli women tourists. The injured were rushed to the government hospital in Vedasandur. The two tourists were later moved to a private hospital. Two Bengaluru passengers were sent to Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital. The police are investigating the crash. All reported injuries are minor.
