NCLAT Orders WhatsApp to Seek User Consent for Data Sharing Beyond App

NCLAT has ruled that WhatsApp must get users’ clear consent before sharing their data for non-WhatsApp uses, including advertising. The tribunal gave WhatsApp three months to comply with the order that protects users’ rights and stops exploitation.
