Fake Sadhu and Friends Nabbed for ₹4 Lakh Ritual Scam in Konaraopet!
November 27, 2025
A shocking scam has rocked the quiet village of Nizamabad in Konaraopet mandal! On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the local police nabbed three men, including a self-styled sadhu, for cheating a poor man named Venu of almost ₹4 lakh.
It all started when these cunning tricksters promised Venu they would perform special rituals at his house. But it wasn’t just any rituals—they claimed they could chase away his health problems and even help find a hidden treasure of gold buried somewhere in his home! Tempted by the promise of both good health and big riches, Venu trusted them.
The police, under the watchful eye of Inspector Venkateshwarlu of Chandurthi Police Station, acted quickly after Venu filed a complaint. They arrested the trio in Nizamabad village. The accused are Mekala Naresh, Kadavancha Prasad, and Sadhula Devender, all hailing from Rajanna Sircilla district.
During the investigation, the police recovered ₹3 lakh from these fraudsters’ possession. Their scam was even more dramatic than it sounds—they staged a fake 'snake bite' incident during the ritual to scare Venu and force him to pay an extra ₹15,000 for supposed treatment expenses.
This clever gang played the trust and superstitions of a man for their own greedy pockets. But thanks to quick police action, their game is over. Venu’s courage to report the fraud has helped catch these con artists. Let this be a warning—beware of people promising magic cures and hidden treasures. Sometimes, the treasure they want is your hard-earned money!
