Tyler Maxon Avalos Arrested for $45,000 Bounty Threat on US Attorney General Pam Bondi

October 29, 2025

A storm is brewing as Tyler Maxon Avalos, a 29-year-old man also called “Wacko” online, landed in big trouble after allegedly putting a $45,000 bounty on U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi! Can you believe it? The shocking TikTok post showed Pam Bondi in a sniper scope with a chilling message: “WANTED: Pam Bondi / REWARD: 45,000 DEAD OR ALIVE / (PREFERABLY DEAD).” This dark post added a caption, “Cough cough. When they don’t serve us, then what?” which grabbed the attention of federal authorities instantly. Federal agents did not waste time. The FBI arrested Avalos on October 16 after an informant tipped them off. Avalos’s TikTok username “Wacko” led investigators to his profile that linked to an "An Anarchist FAQ book," hinting at his rebellious mindset. Court papers reveal Avalos has ties to anarchist ideas and had been active in anti-government online groups. He wasn’t just acting randomly; his online behavior had raised red flags before due to threatening content. Avalos is now charged under federal law (18 U.S.C. § 875) for sending threatening messages across state lines. His case is in a Minnesota federal court with U.S. Magistrate Judge Douglas Micko handling the first hearing. Though briefly detained, Avalos was let out with strict rules: stay in Minnesota, follow mental health treatment, no weapons, no drinking, follow curfew, wear a GPS monitor, and limited internet use. This tight leash will keep him under the watchful eyes of authorities as the case moves forward. The man’s past also adds spice to this story. Court records show Avalos pleaded guilty to domestic violence in Florida in 2016 and got convicted for stalking in Minnesota in 2022. However, his public defender, Daniel Gerdts, boldly stated to Law & Crime, “not guilty of any crime,” and suggested Avalos’s post was political expression, not a real threat. But federal prosecutors are firm: this was a credible danger to Pam Bondi. Public chatter exploded when photos and posts related to Avalos started floating around social media. Although no official picture has been released by the Department of Justice, many eyes are glued to this high-profile case. Avalos must undergo a mental health evaluation and await his next court hearing, which will decide if the case will move to a federal grand jury. The whole saga raises a vital question: How safe are our public officials from threats lurking in the corners of social media? Stay tuned as this story unfolds!
