INDORE: What started as a strange craving for a selfie turned into a nightmare for two Australian women cricketers visiting Indore! Aqeel Khan, 30, was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting these players as they walked to a cafe from their team hotel. At first, he told police his only wish was to click a selfie with them. But wait, there’s more! On digging deeper, he confessed that after spotting them on his way back home, he followed and molested the players. The dramatic day unfolded at Sathya Sai Square where Aqeel had dropped off his father early in the morning. On his way back, he saw the players walking from Robot Square towards Khajrana. Instead of passing by, he made a quick U-turn and approached them again. That's when the nightmare happened – he molested the women and then fled on a bike with no registration number, adding to the mystery. Thanks to sharp technical surveillance and smart intelligence work, the MIG police tracked down and arrested Aqeel. Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya shared, "Initially, he maintained that he only wanted a selfie, but later admitted to following and molesting the players." The law was swift – on Sunday, Aqeel was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody for 15 days. This horrifying episode has sent shockwaves and outrage across Indore and beyond. The Australian women’s cricket team can never forget their visit for such a wrong reason. But justice is in motion now, thanks to the fast police action.
