70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 Lights Up Ahmedabad with Bollywood Magic and Nostalgia

October 14, 2025

All that sparkled at the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 was dipped in pure Bollywood nostalgia! The grand event, held in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 11, was a sparkling tribute to the magic of Hindi cinema's 70-year journey. From heartfelt tributes to 50 years of the legendary film 'Sholay' to the dazzling reunion of the much-loved screen pair Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, the night shone bright with unforgettable moments. The theme — ‘Celebrating 70 Years of Filmfare’ — perfectly captured the long-lasting charm of Indian cinema. Fresh off his National Award win, Shah Rukh Khan hosted the star-studded evening alongside Karan Johar and Maniesh Paul. Their lively banter mixed humor and warmth, sparking joy throughout the night. A wave of excitement swept the crowd when familiar music from ‘Ladki Badi Anjaani Hai’ echoed, bringing alive a perfect moment from 1998’s hit ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ — with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol recreating the magic on stage to thunderous applause. The show dazzled with Bollywood’s stars — Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Kriti Sanon, Ananya Panday, and Siddhant Chaturvedi — each performance celebrating the rich evolution of Hindi films. A touching moment came when Abhishek Bachchan danced to his father’s hit songs like ‘Apni Toh Jaise Taise’, ‘Khaike Paan Banaras Wala’, and ‘Jumma Chumma’. Midway, he stepped aside to twirl his mother, Jaya Bachchan, on stage — a family moment that warmed hearts. Best Actor Awards were shared in a warm hug by Abhishek Bachchan and Kartik Aaryan for ‘I Want To Talk’ and ‘Chandu Champion’. Alia Bhatt took home Best Actor (Female) for her strong role as a protective sister in ‘Jigra’. The biggest winner of the night was ‘Laapataa Ladies’, honored as Best Film. Celebrated for its touching yet powerful story, it bagged multiple awards including Best Director for Kiran Rao and Best Debut for Nitanshi Goel. In a delightful unscripted moment, Nitanshi Goel almost tripped on her gown. King Khan was quick to lend a steady hand — a true gentleman’s touch that earned applause and smiles. The Lifetime Achievement Awards honored the late filmmaker Shyam Benegal and iconic actor Zeenat Aman, whose timeless impact on Indian cinema was celebrated warmly. Karan Johar called Aman “trendsetting, beautiful, gorgeous, and still inspiring generations.” In a simple, heartfelt speech, Aman said, “Namashkar. Thank you, Filmfare, for this very special award.” A new segment, Cine Icons, paid respect to the legends who shaped Indian cinema’s foundation. Names like Bimal Roy, Meena Kumari, Nutan, and Dilip Kumar echoed loudly as the audience rose in applause. Hyundai Motor India Limited was the Title Partner, with Gujarat Tourism as the proud Destination Partner. The night was co-powered by Sweety Mouth Freshners and supported by brands like Amul, Supersox, Sansaar, aD’Decor, Gopal Snacks, and VEGA — making the celebration even more colorful! The 70th Filmfare Awards was not just a ceremony but a lively walk down Bollywood’s memory lane — shining bright with star power, magic, and heart-touching moments!
