NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), part of NTPC's Green Energy family, just signed a powerful MoU with the Gujarat government on October 9, 2025. This rocking deal plans to set up solar parks and projects with a whopping total of 10 GW capacity. But wait, there's more – 5 GW of dazzling wind projects will also be developed! Right now, NTPC REL already has four solar projects in Gujarat producing 2.36 GW, and three wind projects making 354 MW. Plus, there's one hybrid energy project pumping out around 226 MW, all in different stages of construction. NTPC Green Energy is the big boss when it comes to NTPC’s green business goals. Their mission? To reach a giant 60 GW of renewable power capacity by 2032, making up 45% of their entire power output. Today, NTPC boasts a massive 83 GW total power capacity from all sources, with nearly 31 GW more powering up behind the scenes. Out of this, 13.3 GW comes shining from renewable energy! Being India’s largest integrated power utility, NTPC feeds about one-fourth of the nation’s power needs. This new MoU with Gujarat is a sparkling step forward.
