Get ready, Mumbai! The city just got a massive boost in travel with the inauguration of the final phase of Mumbai Metro Line-3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi proudly opened the newest stretch from Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade, wrapping up the entire Aqua Line — Mumbai's very first fully underground metro. This is no small feat! Spread across 33.5 km and boasting 27 stations, this game-changing project cost over Rs. 37,270 crore in total. What does this mean for Mumbaikars? The metro will ferry a whopping 13 lakh passengers daily, making your rides faster, cooler, and super modern. Modi highlighted, "Launching an underground metro with such careful construction in a city like Mumbai is a big achievement." He also drew attention to Mumbai’s shining new star, the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, setting the stage for top-notch connectivity. The final leg links South Mumbai’s rich heritage areas — Fort, Kala Ghoda, Marine Drive — plus key places like Bombay High Court, Mantralaya, RBI, BSE, and the buzzing Nariman Point. The government emphasized its smart design for seamless travel by mixing metros, railways, monorail, and airport links. This effort will slash traffic jams and boost easy last-mile rides. But that’s not all! Modi also launched the sparkling new "Mumbai One" app, uniting 11 public transport services under one roof. From buses to monorails, suburban rails to metro lines (Line 1, 2A, 3, 7), and more — one app does it all. Mumbai One lets you buy digital tickets for all transport modes, skip long queues, and even use one ticket for journeys hopping between different vehicles. It offers real-time updates, alternate routes, station maps, and an emergency SOS button to keep you safe. With this thrilling metro line and the Mumbai One app, the city’s public transport is ready to become a breeze for everyone. Say goodbye to the chaos and hello to speedy, safe, and smooth rides around Mumbai!
