Hold on tight! A fiery tussle has erupted in Maharashtra's Sindhudurg district. Former MLA Rajan Teli has made shocking claims that BJP minister Nitesh Rane is the mastermind behind a loan scam at the Sindhudurg District Central Cooperative Bank. Teli, who just joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena last week, speaks boldly about alleged illegal loans given by the bank under Rane's watch. "Nitesh Rane, Sindhudurg's guardian minister, gave massive loans of Rs 6.5 crore and Rs 10 crore to a company named Rockstar," Teli revealed. And that’s not all! "He also handed out Rs 7.5 crore to a personal assistant earning just Rs 20,000 per month. Some accused have each received Rs 5 crore!" The sums are jaw-dropping, right? But the drama gets hotter. Rane fired back at Teli’s claims with a serious counter-punch: "I do not feel the need to take seriously the allegations of a person who is being investigated by the Centre's CBI for misusing the loan amount taken from the bank." He added that the police and bank officials will sort out the truth. Tough words from Rane, who seems firm to fight back. Teli insists that Rane pressured the bank's chairman and CEO to approve these big loans. He also accused him of trying to trap him to keep this scam under wraps. "The government should pay attention! This bank and the cooperative sector in Konkan must survive," Teli urges passionately. Adding fuel to the fire, Teli said, "Those involved in land mafia openly display banners of Nitesh Rane everywhere here. All these cases must be investigated thoroughly to serve justice." Before jumping ship to the Shinde faction recently, Teli switched from BJP to the Shiv Sena (UBT) last year. He fought the 2024 assembly election from Sawantwadi on a Sena (UBT) ticket but lost to Deepak Kesarkar of Shiv Sena. This political and financial drama in Sindhudurg is far from over. With accusations flying and investigations brewing, all eyes are on the bank and its powerful players. Will the truth come out? Stay tuned as we watch this spicy saga unfold!
