TRICHY/CHENNAI: The air in Tamil Nadu is thick with tension after the tragic Karur stampede that claimed 41 lives. The state government quickly formed special teams to hunt down senior TVK leaders linked to the disaster. But guess what? TVK president Vijay is missing from the police’s list! This has sparked a fiery backlash even from the government’s own friends! Thol Thirumavalavan, the fierce VCK chief, did not hold back on Thursday. He shocked everyone by openly questioning why the government didn’t book Vijay in the FIR, while only the minor TVK leaders got caught in the net. "Can we say that the state govt and TVK have an underground dealing?" he asked reporters in Trichy, raising eyebrows everywhere. He ripped into the government for leaving Vijay out. "Why is there no case against Vijay? When there is a reason to book Bussy Anand (TVK general secretary) and other functionaries, there is no reason to exclude Vijay," he said bluntly. Thirumavalavan also slammed the police for ignoring TVK’s big names Arun Raj and Aadhav Arjuna. "Is the state govt and police afraid? Are they being selective and hesitant to name more powerful people?" he questioned fiercely. The political drama thickened with Thirumavalavan attacking both BJP and AIADMK. He claimed Vijay was "under the complete control of RSS" and accused BJP of using him to split minority votes and weaken the DMK alliance. Meanwhile, he said AIADMK was protecting Vijay to spread hatred against DMK's coalition. "It is worrying to see the dangerous brand of politics he has embraced," he added, pointing fingers at Vijay for trying to gain from this tragedy without real remorse. Not done yet, the Tamil Nadu Congress chief K Selvaperunthagai accused BJP of playing dirty by exploiting the stampede tragedy. BJP’s state president Nainar Nagenthran fired back, questioning how BJP could control Vijay when Vijay openly calls BJP his enemy. In this whirlpool of political blame game, a group of writers, artists, and social activists, including retired Justice R Chandru, ex-IAS M G Devasagayam, and writer S V Rajadurai, stepped in too. They demanded a full probe to find out why the stampede happened. Their call was loud and clear – the government must not hesitate to bring everyone involved, including Vijay, to justice. The Karur stampede tragedy not only shook lives but stirred a political storm. With fiery speeches and pointed questions flying around, Tamil Nadu politics is hotter than ever!
