Ranchi is set to burst into colors and lights this Thursday as the grand Ravan Dahan marks the end of the thrilling Navratri and Dussehra celebrations! The star attraction? Giant towering effigies - a 70ft Ravan, a 65ft Kumbhkarn, and a 60ft Meghnad - all ready to ignite at the Morabadi ground. The excitement is palpable, with Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, and MLA C P Singh expected to light up the event with their presence. Adding to the gust of glory, Bollywood star Bobby Deol is scheduled to perform at the Ravan Dahan at Delhi’s Red Fort on the same day, making the festival even more colorful nationwide! Sudhir Uggal, president of the Punjabi Hindu Biradari, shared the festive vibe: “As the effigies burn and firecrackers illuminate the sky, a sound and laser show will be organised in sync with the sound of crackers. Around Rs 20 lakh has been spent.” That means a night full of sights and sounds that will dazzle everyone! Crafting these giant figures is no small task. A skilled team of 25 artisans from Gaya, Bihar, have worked for weeks to build these spectacular effigies. Bablu Ansari, one of the master crafters, said, “We have been associated with the event at Morabadi for the past 27 years. We have also made effigies for events at Argora, Kathal More and Piska More.” Their dedication brings life and tradition to the festival year after year. But the celebrations don't stop at Morabadi! Dhurwa will also see its own impressive burnings with a 55-ft Ravan and a 50-ft Meghnad set alight. This event will be graced by important guests including Health Minister Irfan Ansari, Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey, and Rural Development Minister Dipika Pandey Singh. So, folks of Ranchi, get ready for a mesmerizing night of fireworks, laser lights, booming crackers, and towering legends. Dussehra here promises to be a masaledar mix of tradition, glitz, and grand celebrations!
