Hold your breath, students of Bihar! The Bihar government has just announced a fantastic update for all those who passed the class 12 board exams. Say goodbye to interest on education loans! Under the famous Student Credit Card Scheme, now every student will get interest-free loans to chase their higher education dreams. Earlier, boys had to pay 4% interest, while girls, differently-abled, and transgender applicants enjoyed a cheaper 1%. But Chief Minister Nitish Kumar shared his exciting news through a post on X, saying, "Now, the loan will be interest-free for all applicants." This Scheme, which started way back on October 2, 2016, has become a ray of hope for many. Nitish Kumar revealed even greater relief in repayment periods. For loans up to Rs 2 lakh, students can now pay back over 84 months instead of 60. And for those taking more than Rs 2 lakh, the time extends from 84 months to a whopping 120 months! The CM clearly wants to make education affordable and accessible for all. "The objective of my government is to ensure that students can pursue higher education," he said. In his words, these steps will "boost the morale of students, enabling them to pursue higher education with greater enthusiasm and dedication," which will not only shape their futures but also brightens the fate of Bihar and India. So, to all students dreaming big, Bihar’s got your back with easy, interest-free loans and long repayment plans!
