Mumbai is buzzing with political drama! Zeeshan Siddique, a politician burning with frustration, has slammed the crime branch for refusing to share crucial info about gangster Anmol Bishnoi’s deportation. You see, Anmol Bishnoi is a prime accused in the shocking murder of Zeeshan’s father, former minister Baba Siddique, who was tragically shot dead in Bandra on October 12, 2024. Zeeshan wanted to know the steps police took to bring Anmol back from Canada, where he was caught earlier this year after an Interpol alert. But the police guard their secrecy fiercely, saying the RTI Act doesn’t allow them to reveal this information. Not convinced, Zeeshan filed an appeal on August 16, asking deputy commissioner of police Raj Tilak Roshan to step in. Here’s the spicy detail: after Baba Siddique's murder, at least 25 arrests shook up the case. Investigations pointed fingers at Anmol Bishnoi, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who allegedly ordered the killing. The job was apparently handed over to Zeeshan Akhtar and Shubham Lonkar. Zeeshan argued that his questions were simple – just the status of Anmol’s custody and official measures like look out circulars, red corner notices, and extradition steps. He says these are official records, not personal secrets, so they should be shared, citing the RTI Act’s Section 8(1)(j) as no barrier here. The original RTI, filed on July 12 to ACP Sunil Chandramore, got a cold shoulder on August 5. Zeeshan, backed by lawyer Pradeep Gharat, slammed the exemption as “wholly misapplied” and asked for penalties against the officer for hiding info with bad intentions. After his hearing, Zeeshan didn’t hold back: he said he is “not satisfied” and hinted, like a thunderclap, that the Bombay High Court might get a visit soon if the silence continues. The political heat is on – will the truth about Anmol’s deportation finally come to light?
