Hold on to your passports, travel lovers! The buzzing Fast Track Immigration–Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) is growing bigger and better. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch this speedy, smart service virtually for five more international airports: Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Trichy, Kozhikode, and Amritsar. Imagine zipping past long immigration lines just like a VIP! This program is no newbie — it first dazzled passengers at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport in July 2024. Already, rounds of applause are pouring in from Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, and Ahmedabad airports where it's working like a charm. The secret? Pre-verified Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders use fast e-gates to breeze through immigration with a snap, a beep, and voila! Thousands have already enjoyed this swifter, safer journey. The government’s sweet treat is now being served free for Indian citizens and OCI cardholders in this first phase. Foreign travellers will get a chance in the later phase. Dreaming of joining this speedy lane? Easy! Apply online at www.ftittp.mha.gov.in. You’ll upload your biometrics, like fingerprints and a facial photo, plus some details. The Bureau of Immigration checks everything carefully. Then, you get an appointment at airports or Foreigners Regional Registration Offices (FRROs) to complete the biometric process. One membership will keep you flying fast for up to five years or until your passport expires — whichever is sooner. Your passport must have at least six months’ validity to apply. When you travel, just scan your boarding pass and passport at an automated e-gate. After quick biometric verification, the gate swings open, and you’re through immigration in a flash! For any questions or support, you can reach out to the ministry’s help desk at india.ftittp-boi@mha.gov.in. So, get ready to pack your bags and experience immigration like never before. Faster, smoother, and hassle-free – now that’s travel magic courtesy of Amit Shah and the government’s smart move!
