Panaji: Get ready to be amazed! With just three weeks left of the southwest monsoon, all 14 rain gauge stations in Goa have hit the magic mark of 2,000mm rainfall. The latest to join this heavy rain party is Mormugao, which measured a solid 2,004.1mm. The whole state enjoyed showers, but some places truly stole the show. Sanquelim recently jumped over 3,000mm, joining top scorers like Valpoi (3,792.9mm), Ponda (3,136mm), Dharbandora (3,848.4mm), Quepem (3,601.5mm), and Sanguem (3,896.6mm). Dharbandora is the star player here, racing toward the 4,000mm landmark like a heavyweight champ! But wait, the rains aren't roaring right now. On Sunday, the southwest monsoon took a breather with only light to moderate showers in many parts of Goa. Looking ahead, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) promises more drizzles! They forecast light to moderate rains across Goa from September 8 to 13. So, will the monsoon magic continue? Keep those umbrellas ready just in case!
