The political drama heats up as Congress steps on the gas against alleged voting scams in recent assembly elections and the Special Intensive Revision exercise in Bihar. Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, has fired fresh salvo by launching a high-impact newsletter. This newsletter boldly sails on his strong claims of 'vote theft' involving the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre. Congress took to X (formerly Twitter) saying, "The opposition leader Rahul Gandhi's campaign against 'vote theft' is exposing how the Election Commission and BJP are colluding to steal your vote and rigging the elections." The online post also announced the release of Gandhi’s "atom bomb" press conference. What shook the boat? On August 7, Rahul Gandhi revealed shocking figures — over one lakh fake voters in the Mahadevapura assembly constituency in Bengaluru Central, Karnataka! His newsletter also throws light on his 'Vote Adhikaar Yatra' in Bihar, where he was joined by allies from the INDIA bloc, including Bihar’s Leader of Opposition and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Tejashwi Yadav. Together, they are rallying against the alleged electoral rigging. Adding fuel to the fire, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge slammed the ECI strongly. He asked, "Is the Election Commission of India (ECI) now the BJP's back-office for vote theft?" He shared a media report highlighting the ECI’s refusal to release probe details about voter fraud in Karnataka's Aland Constituency. Kharge laid out a dramatic timeline of alleged voter manipulation before the Karnataka Assembly elections in 2023. "Ahead of the May 2023 Karnataka elections, Congress had exposed a massive deletion of voters in the Aland Constituency. Thousands lost their voting rights due to a well-planned forgery of Form 7 applications," he said. Explaining further, he said, "In February 2023, a case was filed. The probe uncovered 5,994 forged applications—clear proof of a huge voter fraud attempt. Following this, the Congress government ordered a CID investigation to catch those responsible." The controversy is now a hot political battleground with Congress accusing the poll watchdog and BJP of election mischief. Will this campaign shake the roots of Indian elections? Only time will tell, but the buzz is louder than ever!
