Gurugram’s Traffic Nightmare: Heavy Rain Drenches City, Waterlogging Chaos Hits Key Spots

September 2, 2025

Gurugram turned into a watery mess on Monday evening as heavy rains refused to stop for hours. This left many people stuck in traffic jams and knee-deep water on the streets! The city’s social media platforms buzzed with complaints from frustrated commuters braving the flood-like conditions. Key hotspots like Tulip Chowk, Malibu Town, Bilaspur Chowk, Mahavir Chowk, Narsinghpur FOB, Rajiv Chowk, Signature Tower, Galleria Market, and IFFCO Chowk were drowning in water, making travel a nightmare. To add spice to the story, let's talk numbers! According to the district administration, Gurugram saw widely varying rainfall levels on September 1, 2025. Wazirabad took the crown with a whopping 116 mm of rain—the highest in the district! Kadipur and Harsaru also got drenched with 94 mm each, while Badshahpur had 56 mm. Other areas like Sohna and Manesar saw moderate showers, with 33 mm and 24 mm respectively. The least rain was in Farukh Nagar, with just 10 mm. Looking ahead, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) says the skies will stay "generally cloudy with a few spells of rain or thundershowers" today. Temperatures will dance between a cool 24.0°C minimum and 27.0°C maximum. Tomorrow doesn’t look much different, promising a "partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers." Over in Delhi, the weather is playing along too. Daytime temperatures hovered between 29°C and 31°C, with nights cooling down to 22°C–24°C. Winds were breezy from the east to southeast, speeding up from 10–15 km/h in the morning to 15–20 km/h in the afternoon. The city saw mostly cloudy skies, with occasional light to moderate rain or thundershowers. IMD also warned of possible isolated heavy rainfall in the morning hours. So, if you’re planning to hit the roads in Gurugram or Delhi anytime soon, better keep your umbrellas ready and expect the unexpected on those roads!
