Ola Electric's Gen 3 scooter family is in the spotlight! The company proudly announced on Tuesday that it has received the Certification for Compliance under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for the automobile and auto components sector. This prestigious certification was granted by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), working with the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI). And guess what? All seven Ola S1 Gen 3 scooters made the cut! The Gen 3 line-up includes the S1 Pro 3 kWh, S1 Pro 4 kWh, S1 Pro+ 4 kWh, S1 X 2 kWh, S1 X 3 kWh, S1 X 4 kWh, and S1 X+ 4 kWh. These models drive most of Ola Electric’s sales right now. With this certification, both their Gen 2 and Gen 3 scooters now qualify for PLI incentives. This is not just a trophy on the shelf; it means big money benefits! Ola Electric said this certification will significantly improve their profitability starting in the second quarter of financial year 2026 (Q2 FY26). A company spokesperson highlighted, "Securing PLI certification for our Gen 3 scooters, which form the bulk of our sales, is a critical step towards profitability. This will directly strengthen our cost structure and margins, enabling us to deliver sustainable growth." Under the PLI scheme, Ola Electric can now get incentives from 13% to 18% of the determined sales value (DSV) until 2028. This handsome support will help Ola reach their goal of turning their auto business EBITDA positive. The spokesperson added, "With our auto business targeted to turn EBITDA positive, the certification acts as a strong catalyst to achieve that goal while ensuring our customers continue to get the best-in-class EVs at highly competitive prices." Adding more spice, during its big annual ‘Sankalp’ event last week, Ola Electric revealed exciting new models like S1 Pro Sport (offered with 5.2 kWh and 4 kWh batteries), S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh, and Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh. These new scooters use the powerful 4680 Bharat Cell. The prices start attractively at ₹1,49,999 for S1 Pro Sport, ₹1,69,999 for S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh, and ₹1,89,999 for Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh. Mark your calendars! Deliveries for S1 Pro Sport will start in January 2026, while the S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh and Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh will hit customers’ doorsteps this Navratri festival season.
