SASARAM: The political heat turned fiery on Sunday as Rahul Gandhi and key leaders of the INDIA bloc started the vivacious 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Sasaram, Bihar. This dazzling 16-day march is a bold battle against SIR (Standardised Identification Roll) and 'vote theft', sparking hope and cheers among thousands of eager supporters waving RJD and Congress flags. Leading the charge are heavyweight parties - RJD, CPM, CPI(M-L) Liberation, CPI, and Vikassheel Insaan Party - all joining hands with Congress in a grand show of strength for the 'mahagathbandhan' ahead of Bihar's crucial polls later in the year. Voices were loud and passionate on the ground. CPI(ML) Liberation general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, CPM's Subashini Ali, CPI's P Sandosh Kumar, and VIP's Mukesh Sahani delivered powerful speeches condemning SIR and its harmful effects on marginalized voters. Their fiery words highlighted the fight for every citizen’s right to vote without fear or fraud. The spotlight, however, was stolen by none other than Lalu Prasad Yadav. Despite his frail health, the former Bihar heavyweight filled the stage with laughter and roars of applause. In his classic style, Lalu said, "Lagal, lagal jhulaniya ke dhakka, balam Kalkata chala (We will push the opponent so hard that they will go far away)." His spirited attack on rivals electrified the crowd, showing no sign of slowing down. Adding to the fire, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav sent a sharp warning to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, declaring, "We will not let anyone snatch democracy from Bihar." His words reflected the fierce determination of the grand alliance to protect the voters' rights and ensure a fair election. With the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' just begun, Bihar's political ground is buzzing with energy and hopes. Will this united front shake the election scene? Time will tell, but the message is crystal clear: the fight for democracy and voter rights is on in full swing!
