Suspected activists of the Telugu Desam Party attacked the house of former Minister and YSR Congress Party leader Jogi Ramesh on Sunday. The house is in Ibrahimpatnam, under the NTR Police Commissionerate limits. Protesters claimed Mr. Ramesh made objectionable remarks against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh. They shouted slogans against him. YSRCP leaders said the agitators removed banners outside the house, barged inside, set fire to furniture, and broke glass panes. Neighbors said flames burst from the upper floor, causing panic in the area as people ran for safety. Mr. Jogi Ramesh and his family were not at home during the attack, a neighbor who wished to stay anonymous said. The incident happened in broad daylight, stirring tension near the Ibrahimpatnam junction and in front of the house. YSRCP activists came to the scene and raised slogans against the TDP after the attack was reported.
