The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Tirupati Range arrested Naidupeta Urban police Circle Inspector Mathangi Bobby and head constable Kolluru Ramamohan Raju on Sunday. They were caught accepting a ₹30,000 bribe from a local wine shop owner. The CI and head constable were collecting ₹15,000 monthly kickbacks and harassing the shop management for not paying. To pressure the owners, the CI filed a case on January 20, 2026, accusing the shop of selling illicit liquor. Initially, they demanded ₹45,000 but lowered it to ₹30,000 after the owner's requests. Acting on a complaint, ACB officials set a trap and caught them red-handed. Searches were carried out at Naidupeta Urban police station and the accused's homes. The two will be produced in ACB Court in Nellore, the officials said in a press release.
