On Friday, the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) held a massive parent-teacher meeting across 430 government junior colleges in the State. Over 50,000 parents joined to discuss attendance, performance, exam readiness, and ongoing works at each college. College principals shared key updates with parents. They informed that the State government allocated ₹56.16 crore for repairs, whitewashing, and green board installation. Another ₹10.25 crore was set aside for renovations. Additionally, ₹49.63 crore is provided for new toilets, classrooms, and building construction in 300 government junior colleges. Regular maintenance funds are also given to keep campuses clean. Each college receives ₹50,000 for science labs and ₹10,000 for sports materials. As of January 2026, all government junior colleges have two interactive flat panels, two digital projectors, internet access, and Zoom facilities. BIE also offers free online coaching with Physics Wallah and Khan Academy for competitive exams like JEE, NEET, and CLAT.
