Indian Coast Guard Airlifts Cardiac Arrest Patient from Agatti to Kochi ICU

On Monday, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully carried out a fast medical evacuation of a 63-year-old woman from Agatti island. The patient had suffered a cardiac arrest. The ICG used a Dornier aircraft converted into a mobile intensive care unit (MICU) for the medical flight. The crew took off from Kochi at 11 a.m., landed on Agatti island to quickly pick up the patient, and then flew back to Kochi airport by 2:20 p.m. After landing, the patient was immediately moved to a private hospital for advanced care. The ICG released a statement confirming the life-saving operation.
