January 16, 2026
The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) won a national award for its automatic announcement system at bus stations. APSRTC Chief Engineer (IT) Y. Srinivasa Rao accepted the award at the 'Governance Now – 6th Digital Transformation Summit and Awards' in New Delhi from Kailashnath Adhikar, MD of 'Governance Now.' The system gives passengers clear, timely details about bus arrivals, departures, platform numbers, and routes in multiple languages. It is installed at major bus stations across Andhra Pradesh, improving travel experience and reducing confusion. APSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said, "The award reflected the corporation’s commitment to leveraging digital technologies for enhancing passenger services and reaffirmed the organisation’s focus on continuous improvement and innovation." The system’s success shows APSRTC’s focus on using technology to better serve the public.
