At least 28 people, including many children, fell ill with suspected food poisoning after eating ice cream from a temporary stall at a church festival in Edayar, Kerala. Among those affected, 22 are between 8 and 15 years old. The incident was reported on Monday, January 12, when patients arrived at the family health centre in Binannipuram, Edayar. The festival took place the previous day, Sunday, January 11. Sufferers showed symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea. Health officials said the condition of those affected is stable. Samples of the ice cream were taken to the food safety lab at Kakkanad for testing.
