PMK Founder Ramadoss Seeks EC Action Against Anbumani for Unauthorized Party Use
January 12, 2026
PMK founder S. Ramadoss has written to the Election Commission (EC) demanding swift action against Dr. Anbumani and party members for "unauthorised use of his party’s name for political gain." Ramadoss referred to a Delhi High Court ruling which clarified that the EC did not declare Dr. Anbumani as PMK president and has no authority to do so. Ramadoss stated, "No one in the country has any right to hold alliance talks with any party registered with the Election Commission." He called Anbumani’s attempt to hold talks with the AIADMK "not only illegal but also attracts civil and criminal action for impersonation of my party and myself." The letter urges the EC to register a criminal case at the earliest.
