The Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized 21 kgs of ganja from the TATA-ERS Express at Jolarpet railway station in Tirupattur. The seizure happened during Operation Narcos, a special drive against illegal drugs on trains. The RPF team led by Inspector Nikil Gupta was conducting surprise checks when the express train halted on platform two. They found two abandoned tourist bags in the general compartment's luggage rack with eight bundles of ganja inside. "A gang of four persons got down at the railway station after they noticed a police team got into the train to search the coaches," the police said. The gang abandoned the consignment and fled. A case has been registered by Jolarpet RPF. Police are checking CCTV footage to catch the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
