Proddatur Man Gets Life for Murdering Relative Over Alcohol Advice

A 28-year-old man, Illuru Nagaraju from Proddatur, was sentenced to life imprisonment on December 19 for murdering his relative Sarva Narasimhudu. Narasimhudu, 36, from Jammalamadugu, had advised Nagaraju to quit alcohol and behave well on October 24, 2021. Angered by this, Nagaraju took Narasimhudu for a walk, killed him, and returned home pretending nothing happened. Narasimhudu's body was found later in a mango orchard. The Jammalamadugu police filed a case and arrested Nagaraju after investigation. Additional District Judge K. Satya Kumari sentenced Nagaraju to life and imposed a fine of ₹10,000. Superintendent of Police Shelke Nachiket Vishwanath praised the Jammalamadugu police and Public Prosecutor M. Sudhakar Reddy for securing the conviction.
