The Lok Sabha will meet on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, to discuss the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Bill, 2025 and the Sustainable Harnessing of Atomic Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) Bill. The session begins with Question Hour, followed by ministers like Dr. Jitendra Singh, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Jitin Prasada laying papers. Earlier, on Tuesday, December 16, the Lok Sabha passed a bill to raise Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the insurance sector to 100%. This step aims to help provide insurance coverage to all citizens by 2047. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said during the debate on the Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha (Amendment of Insurance Laws) Bill, 2025, that higher FDI will bring more companies into the insurance market. She said, "Monopoly doesn’t give us that advantage, and therefore, the more the competition, the better the rates." This competition is expected to make insurance policies more affordable for everyone.
