The North Zone police of Hyderabad arrested three people linked to two big thefts by domestic servants. Gold and silver ornaments worth roughly ₹31 lakh were recovered. In the first case, Uragadda Madhavi, 35, and her husband Uragadda Krishnaiah, 40, were caught by Karkhana police on December 15. Jewellery businessman Gajawada Sridhar, 52, from Bowenpally reported missing gold items and biscuits from his house. Investigators found the couple had melted some stolen gold and made new ornaments for themselves. They admitted the theft and helped police recover gold ornaments and melted gold weighing 24.2 tolas. The accused were sent to court and remanded to judicial custody. In the second case, Bollarum police arrested Jajala Sindhu, also known as Chinnari, from Medak. She was a servant in Yellu Sujatha’s house in Dovton Road since July 2025. Sujatha, 53, filed a complaint on December 13 about missing gold and silver kept in her almirah. Police found a gold necklace weighing 5.1 tolas, melted gold pieces of 2 tolas, and silver weighing 61 tolas with Sindhu. Hyderabad City Police advised citizens to carefully check background of domestic servants before hiring. They also urged people to keep valuables locked and report suspicious activity to Dial-100 immediately. This recovery highlights police efforts to protect property and maintain order in the city.
