Cuban Ambassador Urges Global South Unity in AI at Kerala University Conference

Cuban Ambassador to India, Juan Carlos Marsán Aguilera, called for stronger cooperation among Global South countries in key sectors like artificial intelligence. Speaking at the first session of a three-day international conference at Kerala University, he stressed the need for countries of the Global South to unite to overcome global crises. The event, held from December 12 to 14, focused on 'India’s innovation system: Global perspectives.'
At the valedictory session, Santhosh Babu, chief mission director of Information Kerala Mission and managing director of K-FON, said Kerala's challenges could be solved by adopting innovative technologies. He demonstrated the K-Smart application as an example of how technology can bridge social and economic gaps.
The conference was organized by IndiaLICS in collaboration with the Science Policy Institute of Kerala University to honor the former Vice-Chancellor V.P. Mahadevan Pillai.
