On December 13, a National Lok Adalat held across Mysuru district successfully disposed of 14,077 pending court cases. The district courts had a total of 1,30,887 pending cases, split almost equally between civil (65,170) and criminal (65,666). Out of these, 49,645 were legally compoundable. During the Lok Adalat, 26,694 cases were tackled for compromise and settlement. The Lok Adalat focused heavily on traffic challan cases, offering violators a 50% concession. Over 10,41,732 traffic challan cases were resolved, generating ₹23,61,37,150 in revenue. Transport-related cases dating from 1991–92 to 2019–20 also saw progress. A total of 116 such cases were settled, leading to collections of ₹1.41 lakh. Family disputes got attention too, with 42 couples from Mysuru city and taluk courts reuniting. Overall, settlements during the Lok Adalat raised ₹73.55 crore through compromise and mutual agreement. The event was organised under the guidance of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi, and the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru. Principal District and Sessions Judge Usha Rani expressed satisfaction and thanked the Advocates’ Association, police, and other departments for their support. Senior Civil Judge Amarnath K.K., Mysuru Advocates’ Association president S. Lokesh, secretary A.G. Sudheer, and other court judges attended the occasion.
