Spotify to Raise US Subscription Prices in Early 2026 After Global Hikes
November 25, 2025
Spotify, the global music streaming powerhouse, is turning up the heat on your wallet in the US! According to the Financial Times, Spotify will boost its subscription prices in the United States in the first quarter of 2026. This will be the first price rise in the US since June 2024.
Earlier, in August, Spotify announced it would increase subscription fees to 11.99 euros (around $13.82) per month from 10.99 euros across markets like South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region. Now, the US joins the list of regions facing this price hike.
The streaming giant has recently pushed price increases in more than 150 markets during the September quarter. Spotify's confidence comes from its huge presence and loyal user base, believing customers will continue despite higher costs.
Spotify has not responded when Reuters asked for a comment on the planned US raise. However, the company recently forecasted its fourth-quarter profits to beat Wall Street expectations, banking on strong user growth and the extra cash flow from these price hikes especially during the busy holiday season.
So, is your favourite playlist about to get a tad bit pricier? Seems like it! But Spotify is playing a smart game, mixing steady growth with strategic price bumps to keep its tunes flowing and earnings soaring.
