In a shocking and violent scene, gunmen launched a fierce attack on the paramilitary force headquarters in Peshawar on Monday. This base belongs to the frontier constabulary, a key security force, situated in the bustling northwestern city. The attack turned even deadlier when two suicide bombers exploded their bombs at the complex, killing three people. A senior official, who spoke to Reuters and wished to stay anonymous, shared chilling details: "The first suicide bomber first carried out an attack on the main entrance of the constabulary and the other one entered the compound." This double blow caused panic and chaos in the area. Law enforcement sprang into action instantly. "Law enforcement personnel, including the army and police, have cordoned off the area and are carefully handling the situation as we suspect there are some terrorists inside the headquarters," said the official. The headquarters is located near a military cantonment in a crowded neighborhood. Local resident Safdar Khan described the scene to Reuters: "The road has been closed for traffic and cordoned off by the army, police and (security) personnel." The coordinated response aims to stop any further danger and catch the attackers inside. This dreadful attack adds to the ongoing security challenges in Peshawar and highlights the brave efforts of law enforcement working to protect the public from terror threats.
