What a shocking disaster struck in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district on Monday morning! A tipper lorry carrying gravel crashed head-on into a public transport bus near Chevella. The impact was so fierce that the heavy gravel spilled onto the bus, turning the scene into chaos. Tragically, 19 people lost their lives, including 10 women, said a police official speaking to PTI. The bus driver, travelling from Tandur to Hyderabad, was also among the dead. The bus passengers' exact count is still unknown because many were trapped under the gravel. The injured passengers were too shocked and scared to give any number. Rescue teams used earthmovers to clear the gravel and pull out the trapped passengers. Slowly but steadily, everyone was brought out safely. The Chief Minister of Telangana, A Revanth Reddy, expressed deep sadness over this terrible accident. He immediately ordered Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and DGP Shivadhar Reddy to speed up rescue and relief work “on a war footing,” says an official statement. Some ministers were also sent rush to the accident location. CM Revanth Reddy instructed that the injured be moved quickly to Hyderabad hospitals so they can get the best treatment possible. This heartbreaking accident reminds us how fragile life is and how important quick rescue work can be during such disasters.
