Madras High Court Shifts Bail Hearing of T. Devanathan Yadav in Mylapore Fund Scam Case

November 1, 2025

In a sizzling twist in the Mylapore Hindu Permanent Fund drama, Justice K. Rajasekar of the Madras High Court made a sharp move on October 31, 2025. He referred the bail petition of accused T. Devanathan Yadav to Justice G. Jayachandran — the same judge who had given him interim bail on September 15. But here’s the catch: Yadav was ordered to deposit a whopping ₹100 crore by October 30 to keep the bail alive. Guess what? He missed the deadline! Justice Rajasekar is now saying that since the deposit wasn’t made and the accused wants to change the bail terms, it’s best if both the main bail petition and the modification request go to Justice Jayachandran. Also, because Yadav was supposed to surrender on October 31 after the interim bail ended, Justice Rajasekar kindly extended the surrender date to November 7. This extension will give the High Court Registry some breathing room to schedule the hearing before Justice Jayachandran. However, not everyone is happy with the delay. Advocate R. Thirumoorthy, speaking for the depositors’ association, fired back fiercely. He said, "When the accused had not deposited the money despite enjoying interim bail for 45 days, he must necessarily be ordered to surrender." Thirumoorthy warned that the November 7 extension might cause a legal mess if Justice Jayachandran refuses any further delay. But Justice Rajasekar calmly replied, "No such problem would arise because the Registry would take a few days to list the matter before the other judge." The drama continues, and all eyes are on the High Court’s next moves in this ₹100 crore saga!
