Thanks to a deep depression swirling in the Bay of Bengal, heavy and very heavy rains are on their way! This weather beast will mainly soak northern and interior parts of the state over the next few days. The skies over Chennai, Vellore, and Ranipet will burst with very heavy rainfall on October 4, 2025. The RMC also tells us to expect light to moderate showers in about half the weather stations across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. While today’s heavy rain will be mostly up north, widespread showers will soak the interiors by October 5. So get ready for some wet weather and possible travel delays. As if the rain wasn’t enough, maximum temperatures in some areas could climb 2 to 3 degrees Celsius above normal until October 5.
