Hamas Accepts Some Parts of Trump’s Peace Plan: Hostage Release Hot Topic Ahead of Sunday Deadline

October 4, 2025

The Middle East is buzzing with drama as Hamas reveals it has accepted parts of U.S. President Donald Trump's big peace plan! One major win? The immediate release of all remaining hostages, a demand close to many hearts. But wait, some parts of the deal are still up in the air, needing more talks. Trump isn't playing games; he gave a sharp warning on Friday: "An Agreement must be reached with Hamas by Sunday Evening at SIX (6) P.M., Washington, DC time." If Hamas says no or delays, Trump threatens "all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas." He even declared, "THERE WILL BE PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST ONE WAY OR THE OTHER." That's bold, isn't it? The plan, unveiled by Trump with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, asks Hamas to release about 48 hostages (around 20 are believed alive), give up power, and disarm. In exchange, Israel would step back from many areas, pause attacks, free hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, open humanitarian aid, and delay relocating much of Gaza’s population. Even cooler, the region would be run internationally, with Trump and former British PM Tony Blair watching over things. But there’s a catch: no path for Gaza to reunite with the West Bank in a future Palestinian state. A Hamas insider told The Associated Press some parts don’t sit right and need fixing — they didn’t say what exactly. Palestinians want peace, but many feel U.S. plans favor Israel too much. Meanwhile, Israel has cranked up the heat, blocking food and medicine for months and taking over large territories. Gaza City slid into famine just before Israel launched a big military strike. Around 400,000 people fled lately, but many remain, caught in harsh conditions. Olga Cherevko, from the UN’s humanitarian office, shared a sorrowful scene: families and vulnerable people trying to survive near Shifa Hospital with nowhere to go. "They are not able to move south because they just cannot afford it," she said. Trump didn’t hold back on tough talk either. He wrote that most Hamas fighters are "surrounded and MILITARILY TRAPPED, just waiting for me to give the word, GO,' for their lives to be quickly extinguished." He warned, "you will be hunted down, and killed." Though many Hamas leaders have died, they still control some spots and launch attacks hurting Israeli soldiers. Hamas insists it won’t free hostages unless Israel stops fighting and pulls back — a deal Netanyahu won’t accept, calling for Hamas to surrender. This tension comes as the October 7 tragedy’s second anniversary approaches. That day in 2023, Hamas militants attacked Israel, killing around 1,200 people and kidnapping 251. Israel’s response has been fierce, with Gaza’s Health Ministry saying over 66,000 Palestinians died — half of them women and children. Most Gaza residents have been forced to flee multiple times, and much of the land looks like a ghost town. Both Trump and Biden’s teams have tried hard to end the bloodshed and get hostages back, all while backing Israel strongly. With the Sunday deadline near, will peace finally break through, or is another storm about to roar? Stay tuned!
