Hold on tight, readers! The news rollercoaster is here fresh and fiery. First up, a major tragedy struck in Tamil Nadu at the Ennore SEZ thermal power project near Ponneri on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Nine migrant workers from Assam lost their lives, and one was injured when the scaffolding they stood on broke and crashed down. These brave workers were building a concrete arch at a height of over 20 feet for the 1,320-MW power station. A senior officer from Avadi police said, "The iron scaffolding installed for the construction of the arch collapsed." What a heartbreak! Meanwhile, far north in Ladakh’s Leh town, there was a sigh of relief as curfew was relaxed on the same day. This followed violent protests that tragically killed four civilians on September 24, demanding Statehood and inclusion in the Sixth Schedule. But wait, the drama doesn't end! The Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), a big group of social and political players from Kargil, announced they are pulling out from talks with the Centre planned for October 6. This came just a day after the Leh Apex Body (LAB), a similar group from Leh, decided to boycott these talks. The political heat is high! Good news in sports! India’s women cricket team showed their might at the Women’s ODI World Cup, beating Sri Lanka by 59 runs (DLS method) on Tuesday at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. Despite a rare slip-up by star player Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Amanjot Kaur, and Sneh Rana shone brightly to chase victory. The team posted a strong 269 for eight in 47 overs before bowling Sri Lanka out for 211. Harmanpreet Kaur and her team proved they have deep batting and sharp bowling skills for the long battle of the World Cup. Politics and law! The BJP’s focus on illegal migration in Bihar faces a reality check. The latest National Crime Records Bureau report says only five cases related to the Foreigners and Passport Acts were registered in Bihar in 2023 — just three in 2022 and one in 2021. Seems like the big issue might be less big on the ground. The Home Ministry has turned strict on NGOs, asking them to renew their FCRA registrations four months before they expire. No more last-minute rushes! In Uttar Pradesh, Bareilly police grabbed Maulana Mohsin Raza, connected to cleric Maulana Tauqeer Raza’s family, for his role in violent protests on September 26. Alongside, they started tearing down properties linked to him. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand police formed a special investigation team to probe the mysterious death of journalist Rajiv Pratap, whose body was found in the Bhagirathi river. In an international twist, Italy announced it will stop protecting an international flotilla trying to bring aid to Gaza with a military ship. The Global Sumud Flotilla, carrying more than 500 people including parliamentarians, lawyers, and Sweden’s climate star Greta Thunberg, tries to break Israel’s blockade. Now, without Italy’s cover, activists face more danger from Israeli forces. So much happening, from local tragedies to thrilling sports wins and global diplomatic moves! Stay tuned for more spicy updates.
